The following categories are available in the HPCrazy Guitar Academy. With the tagging system you can find the perfect tutorial for your playing level.

• Guitar Beginners - If you are a Guitar Beginner - then this is the part which brings you step by step with a various set of exercises to an intermediate guitar playing level. The first 6 - 12 months are hard for any guitar beginner because there are many things which have to be repeated all the time till one is able to perform them on the guitar. These exercises are meant to keep you motivated even if you need to repeat many things over and over again.
• Learn Blues Guitar - The Blues Guitar Tutorials are designed to learn the basics of blues, blues improvisation, theory and basic improvisation concepts with the so-called question-answer concept. Beside these basic concepts, more complex blues forms are shown, playing styles of well-known blues guitarists are analyzed, or simply different Blueslicks are shown, with which you can quickly achieve a great professional sounding success with simple means. The tutorials marked with Masterclass are for advanced guitarists.
• Learn Rock Guitar - In the Rock Guitar Tutorials all important techniques of this genre are shown. It starts with the so-called power chords, the commonly used chords of the rock guitar. The rhythm guitar in rock is relatively simple, because the power chords are relatively easy to grap, but nevertheless the rhythm is very important and is trained accordingly. A timing accurate rhythm guitar is the foundation of every rock band. Lead guitar is technically very demanding and has to be trained accordingly. Various exercises on timing and synchronization techniques are important parts of the lead guitar and are completed with an appropriate lick library. The tutorials which are marked as Guitar Masterclass are intended for the very advanced guitarists and serve as motivation and inspiration for the others.
• Learn Jazz Guitar - The jazz guitar is by far the most complicated music form. In this genre a preoccupation with music theory harmony and rhythm is inevitable. The study of modes, chord progression, syncopation, improvisation concepts and various blues and musical forms are the center of the training on the jazz guitar. In jazz, improvisation concepts are very sophisticated and complex. The demands on guitar technique are very high and require special training. With the different protagonists of jazz are just as important as the so-called transcriptions of various solos by jazz musicians. In the tutorials these demands are met.
• Learn Funk Guitar - The Funk guitar is primarily a rhythm guitar. A preoccupation with rhythmics is the center of training for the funk guitar. The basic forms of the so-called 16th rhythmics are learned and implemented on the guitar. Different chord licks, single note lines, tricks and other genre typical aspects of this guitar are shown in the tutorials.
• Learn Guitar Covers - In the cover tutorials known pieces are analyzed and the most important parts of the pieces are shown on the guitar. In some cases arrangements are also shown, which others are based on the melody of a well-known piece.

In particular, simplified aspects of well-known guitarists are also shown that these protagonists are often top-class guitarists. • Learn Touch Technique - Here you can learn my version of the Touch Technique which was invented by Stanley Jordan, where you play the guitar like a piano player by using both hands on the fretboard to create an unheard rich sound on the guitar.
• Learn Guitar Secrets - When it come to guitar secrets you really need to know - this is for you. I will share some guitar secrets which are very helpful for you to become a better guitar player. I would even call it a " Must Have " feature. Guitar Secrets you might haven't heard anywhere else.
• Learn Classical & Film Music - In classical music and film music, small classical-looking etudes are shown or arrangements of classical pieces are presented. There are also simplified arrangements of well-known film music pieces or pieces that would work as film music.
• Guitar Music Production - Learn how to compose a guitar song in the HPCrazy Guitar Academy. I am a professional composer who worked for Swiss National Television, had many placements in international TV stations with my music, recorded more then 60 CD's, scored movies and cooperate clips and last but not least had placemnts in the ABC shows Dr. House, Ugly Betty and Orange Is The New Black. In these tutorials I will show you how you can compose musie on guitar, how to work with guitar sounds, with drums, with software or in one sentence to be a creative composer on guitar. • Sound Lab - Professional tips and tricks for the optimization of your guitar equipment in combination with your individual playing technique. I have experience as a composer, producer and studio - and live musician how to handle your equipment in different situations, how to adjust and use compressors, distortion, EQ's or other effects and how to achieve a specific sound.

You find the tutorials which fit your playing level by viewing the search tags. You find the Index HERE. The tutorials are designed in a way that all questions are already answered, but if you are stuck in a tutorial, you can ask your question in the lesson itself or discuss your questions in the HPCrazy Students Club to get some help by other students. And if everything fails you still can book a private lesson.

Guitar Courses

The HPCrazy Guitar Academy offers a selection of courses which shall help students to get a guidance in the learning process. At the end of a course students can book a test if they want to check if they learned everything properly.

My Experience

From 2003 to 2006 I managed the Gitarrenforum.eu, built up an online guitar school and at the same time built up and wrote the English equivalent on HPCrazy.com. At that time I had a lot of traffic, many students, many visitors and therefore I was able to build up a great wealth of experience. In 2006 I got a mandate at GuitarTricks.com, at that time the biggest portal worldwide about learning guitar and guitar. At that time we had all user base of 1.5 million subscribers and I was always in the top 4 of the so-called featured instructors on this web portal from 2006 to 2012. 2007 cooperation with Gibson and there I was used as advertising medium for Guitartricks.com. Because of my great popularity at that time, strategic decisions of Guitartricks.com were also discussed directly with me. During this time I have gained a lot of experience in running a general betting portal for a large number of students and providing them with content. I learned what users want, what serves them in the game, and how to pass on learning content to a broad mass of people. This knowledge has now been incorporated into my own guitar academy, the HPCrazy Guitar Academy, and is now available on the YouTube channel and the guitar academy presented here.

In my blog I share some of my personal thoughts and professional experience being a professional guitarist, musician, composer, teacher and live performer since 1991.

SMPV ( Swiss Music Pedagogical Association ) Accreditation ( authorization ) 1999 - 2007 for private university education and SMPV consulting and teaching activities. The accreditation was an authorization to train private students to become professional musicians.

Featured online instuctor at guitartricks.com ( 2006 - 2012 ), featured online instructor at Gibson.com ( 2007 ) and support of over 80000 students online. During this time I gained a lot of experience in optimizing learning content for a general worldwide audience. Feedback, statistics and experience reports from that time are the basis of the HPCrazy Guitar Academy. At the same time, I ran the Gitarrenforum.eu - a leading online portal in Europe at that time for guitar and guitar lessons.

Starting in 2013, management of a successful guitar channel on YouTube under the name HPCrazy with currently over 51000 subscribers.
